Local to Global Justice 2024 heARTathon
A heARTathon is similar to a hack-a-thon but instead of code, will be centered around creating transformative artistic expressions and campaigns, that inspires to reduce, reuse, repurpose, recycle, regenerate to nurture, serve, protect and respect life everywhere, and usher humanity into regenaissance.

Local to Global Justice (L2GJ), is completely volunteer run, an university-community partnership and a registered 501(c)3 non profit, that has been organizing an annual forum and festival since 2001. This event has been free and open to the public, and the organization is committed to keeping the event inclusive.
We invite you to be part of raising $5,000 or more, for the L2GJ heARTathon initiative for 2024, or atleast help us in reaching our minimum target of $5000, which will be matched 1:1 through CVSH Foundation funds.
L2GJ’s primary goal is to educate, raise awareness amongst ASU students and the greater community about issues of Local to Global Justice, while promoting diversity, freedom of speech, and academic freedom of discussion.
Our organizing table, which includes students and community organizers, meets regularly to discuss the struggles our communities are facing and to find new ways to recognize and support issues, while offering networking opportunities.
We believe it is vital to connect local diversity, sustainability, and social justice issues to larger global struggles.

We are currently planning our 24th annual Local to Global Justice Forum and Festival with the theme “Creators for Change'', showcasing art as activism. We will be inviting presenters who resonate with this theme, including individuals and organizations who are dedicated to channeling the transformative potential of artistc expressions to shape a better world.
Our inspiration for this theme was sparked from the passionate efforts of local, national, and international artists, both emerging and established, who use their creativity to provoke thought, foster dialogue, and drive positive change.
Beyond recognizing the need for change, we aim to ignite discussions, actions, and artistic endeavors that bring about a more just and equitable world.
---
In support of this effort, a group of volunteers from CVSHealth as #TeamCVS family and friends, have offered their time, skills and resources, to imagine a heARTathon initiative, to complement the Festival and Forum.
We hope to stimulate change with an event that is thoughtfully designed and facilitated in collaboration with the L2GJ organizing table.
- We aim to stimulate participation, and promote active learning and research.
- Participation may be multi-modal, both in-person and on-line, to extend the global impact.
- The heARTathon will be ticketed, to encourage serious participation.
- The funds raised from this campaign will be directly received by Local to Global Justice 501(c)3.
- Proceeds from ticket sales will be used towards: swags, gift cards, seed capital for teams to build prototypes, free future entry, art supplies, prizes.
