I was in for a real shock when at 36-weeks pregnant, I was told that my sweet baby boy Julien had a heart defect. He was diagnosed with hypo plastic left heart. Without any notice, I had to pack up, leaving my other three children to head to Vegas to deliver because Reno wasn’t equip to handle his delivery.
Julien was born 3/12/19. 2 hours after he was born, his tiny body went under go a cath procedure— his first of many surgeries.
On March 24th, he had his open heart surgery and then on April 25 he had to have another cath procedure. Soon after, on May 15th, he had another open heart and shortly after that he came down with a terrible blood infection which left him on IV antibiotics for six long weeks. Once his little body healed the infection, he had to have another Cath procedure on September 10th. September 27th…yep, another open heart surgery. This time, the healing is slower, and more difficult. His little body has been through more in 7 short months than most adults will have to face in a lifetime. Little man is on high-flow oxygen, has another incision infection and has to have a heavy dose of medication / antibiotics(Methadone, Vancomycin Ativan, Tylenol, Morphene, and Motrin. This little man is fighting for his life, and I am fighting to stay above water. I had to relocate to Vegas to be with my baby Julien. I am by his bedside everyday supporting my little man which leaves me unable to work. My family has spent a lot of money traveling back and forth to help support me and allow me to see my other children. With three other children, not working is extremely difficult, but Julien needs me right now. If you can find it in your heart to help, it means everything to myfamily and I ,
