Heart transplant for Saori

Message from Saori:

I am currently fighting a disease called restraint cardiomyopathy.

Before the physical condition got worse, I had some restrictions, but I went to school as usual, went to work, went out to the music festival, and went on a trip. My physical strength can not catch up gradually and has reached the present.

For me who is difficult to wear an artificial heart, The means of relief are only heart transplantation abroad. But it costs huge costs and I can not afford to pay it.

“Want to live…”When I complain a little、I’m afraid of every day.

To think every day would like to return to ordinary “daily life”. And I want to give back to you for the people supporting.

Please give us your cooperation and make this dream come true.

More than a heart, please.

Saori Katsuta

Message from Mariko Takeuchi Eisenman (go fund me campaign Spencer):

I hope you can help, even if it’s a little.

My uncle’s coworker/close friend‘s daughter, Saori, has a severe disease – Restrictive Cardiomyopathy, or RCM. My uncle received the call suddenly and has been organizing help for his friend and their family. However, Saori is getting weaker and weaker by the day. She needs a heart transplant as soon as possible.

It’s only way she’ll survive.

However, Japan doesn’t have enough donors, and she’ll have to wait at least 5 or 6 years for the surgery. She doesn’t have that kind of time. The only way she’ll live is by coming to the U.S for a transplant. So she and her parents decided to travel to the U.S. and see if they could get her transplant done here (Cedars Sinai Hospital and Medical Center in California.)

But her family can’t afford the costs. They have all the doctors’ fees, the cost of travel and the costs of hospitalization, on top of other things. Insurance doesn’t cover any of this, so they’re having to pay all the costs out-of-pocket.

She lost hope one time and her parents were, understandably, really upset.

When my uncle became aware of her situation, he really felt for them because he has a daughter of the same age, so he organized this donation campaign to help.

Can I ask your help?

Saori hopes she can continue living her life like everyone else.

I believe many people giving even a little can add up to a lot. You can donate online here: link
