Heart transplant for Derek Van Loon

My brother Derek had what is referred to as a widow maker 7.5 years ago. He was a very active athlete and was in good health. This took all of us by surprise and he was only given a 30% chance of living. But he did pull through and is lucky to be here today!!!! Because of this trauma to his heart he now has stage 4 chronic heart failure. He has just been approved for a heart transplant and will be going to the Cleveland clinic at the end of march to begin testing to be placed on the list. This is great but also very scary! He is a loving husband, brother, son and uncle and all we want is for him to be healthy again! He just recently has been in and out of the hospital and can no longer work. He will either be staying in the Cleveland clinic or home hooked to IV's with a visiting nurse. We are asking for prayers and any small donation you can give to allow his beautiful and his main caretaker (who we also call his angel) of a wife Laurel to assist in being there with him. Since both of them will not be able to work this is just to take the added stress off of them both. I ask first that you please say a prayer that they find a donor quickly and then we will need additional prayers that his surgery goes well. For those of you that know him he still has is great sense of humor and positive attitude but of course is also scared and just wants to feel healthy again. We love you Derek and are here for you!!!
