Heart surgery for our blind cat Sam

In summer of 2020 I have seen an Instagram story of two blind kittens who lived in a small cage at a vet's office in Greece.  Being blind they didn't have a chance to be adopted or cared for in Greece so I have reached out to the the woman who shared them and let her know that I will take care of the kittens and she can bring them to me in Germany. I couldn't say no as I love animals and wanted to be there for those  little creatures who desperately needed our help.

The moment we met them we fell in love. Even though they are blind and had a rough past, they trusted us from the beginning and even started playing and being little kitties shorty after they arrived. We named them Sam and Mavros. We could see that their eyes were infected, they were skinny, that they had worms and had a bad hygiene. 

What we couldn't see and had to find out at our vet 4 days after they got here is that one of them - Sam - has a heart disease. The vet noticed right away when she checked his heart. We made an appointment at an animal cardiologist for a cardiac ultrasound which showed that he has a pulmonary stenosis - the pulmonary valve is too small. Untreated, a pulmonary stenosis can lead to sudden death at any time and the life expectancy is shortened. 

Sam is already receiving heart medication to improve his condition. To safe his precious little life we have decided on collecting money for a heart surgery. And this is where we ask for your support. Every support matters and we would be more than thankful if you decide on helping Sam with your donation. We are so in love with him and blessed that he and Mavros found their way to us. They love each other, support each other and rely on each other every day. There is constant playing, chasing and having fun. If you didn't know you wouldn't realize that they are blind kittens at first. We want them both to have the chance to grow up together and be there for each other and a part of our family for as long as possible.
