HEART of Newark

Hi! We are a duo of 3rd year medical students and childhood best friends residing in NJ who share the same vision and goal of promoting access to healthcare and ensuring personal well-being throughout our community. We strongly believe that healthcare should be available to rich and poor alike; nobody should suffer from an illness by simply not having the means or resources to go get checked or screened at the hospital.

At H.E.A.R.T of Newark, our goals are to promote the following 5 pillars within the community:

Health: provide healthcare to the needy, including screenings for diseases and referrals to local PCPs/free clinics on weekends 
Education: help to educate the community in regards to diet, exercise, and promote health/well-being; help to provide funds for school supplies for children and families in need, help to tutor students in need
Aid: Provide aid such as hygiene kits and food items during times of need (Coronavirus), help the homeless population of Newark, collaborate with local programs such as shelters/after school programs 
Reform: Help to improve the community by promoting public health  
Trust: foster trust and engage with the community via local outreach events
