Heart for the Holts
Many of you know the Holt family as long-time Al Garza's Premier Martial Arts family members. 17 year old Stephen is a 3rd Degree Black Belt (heading off to college in Abilene this summer), and 15 year old Savannah is a 1st Degree Black Belt. Mom, Kelly, has been on PMA staff as our After School Lead/Teacher. Dad, Stephen, has also been part of the PMA front desk staff, but is probably best remembered as the guy with the MASSIVE barbecue pit who would tirelessly volunteer to do all our cooking for every BBC fundraiser, every pool party, wedding, or any PMA event ever!! This entire family has supported and served AGPMA and our community faithfully for 13 years, prior to moving to Brownwood, TX at the end of last year to be closer to Kelly’s aging mom.
Savannah was recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer and will be undergoing surgery at MD Anderson in Houston at the end of June to have her thyroid and several lymph nodes removed. She will be in the hospital for a few days and then sent back home to continue her recovery. They will be traveling back and forth from Brownwood to Houston for follow up visits and treatments.
As you can imagine, this puts quite a strain on the family, not just financially, but emotionally and logistically, as well.
Please keep the Holts in your prayers as they go through this season and consider financially supporting the family, who has so freely given to so many! We have set up this GoFundMe account to help the Holts with any expenses that they may incur through this whole process - medical expenses, travel expenses, hotel expenses, food expenses, and lost wages.
