Healy Family's Time of Need

A lot of you know my dad, Chris Healy. Some of you know him through me, while others worked with him directly at Washington Mutual and Chase and ISGN. You know that he is a caring, loving individual who is always looking out for the well-being of others and he is always going out of his way to help those in need whenever he can. Unfortunately, right now he needs your help.

Four months ago, my dad was laid off after the company suddenly restructured his department. During that time, he has been aggressively looking for work, applying for any and every position under the sun, up and down and across the state of Florida (and beyond). Despite his incredibly active search, there have been very few bites from employers. As a result, our family's finances have been extremely tight and the cost of living in our home and maintaining our monthly bills has gotten too high to manage without a steady income.

As you may be aware, my mom, Patricia Corey Healy, is permanently disabled and unable to work. Fortunately, she has health insurance to cover her array of medical needs but the same cannot be said of my father.

Thankfully, I currently live at home and I am working full-time, however the support that I can provide my parents is limited not only by my income but also by student loan payments.

It is devastating to watch my family struggle and it is nearly impossible to handle the uncertainty that comes with each and every day. But with Thanksgiving tomorrow and the holidays around the corner, I'm reminded to be grateful for every moment and to acknowledge the control that I do have in my life.

That is why I'm here. My family is hurting and in desperate need of any help that you can afford to give. I understand that the month of December can be a money-cruncher for everyone but even the littlest bit will go a long way to keep my family in our home and financially afloat while my dad continues his search for a job.

If a monetary donation is not possible, I understand completely and I appreciate you reading this far. There are two other ways that you can help:

1.) Keep your ear to the ground for job opportunities that will be a great fit for my dad and refer him whenever possible. This is his LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/cphealy/. Please reach out to him with any postings you come across and any inside lines you may have with your own employer.

2.) Share this GoFundMe with your friends and family. Even if they cannot offer financial support, they may be aware of employers looking for a dedicated, hard-working manager like my dad.

Again, I know it is a difficult time of year for a lot of people but if you can afford to give even a little bit of support - however you can manage - I will be eternally grateful. Please disregard the goal amount as it is a meaningless placeholder.

There are truly not enough ways to say "thank you" that will express how grateful I am for any donation that you can make.

Please reach out to me if you have any questions or any information that may help my family.

Happy Holidays.
