Healthy Heart for Tim

On Friday, August 25th our Dad Tim went in for a standard stress test for his DOT. After an EKG was run, the doctors decided he was unable to complete the stress test and had to go to the cath lab. Tim ended up having to have a quadruple bipass surgery on his heart on August 27th. The surgery went really well and he was discharged from the hospital on August 31st. On Tuesday September 5th, our mom Lori, had concerns with Dad breathing really heavy throughout the night, his color was grey and his leg where they took the graft was swelling. Mom got him to the emergency room just in time and they determined he was in the middle of a massive heart attack. The grafts from his surgery had failed and his body started fighting itself and throwing clots everywhere. He is back in the ICU with the diagnosis of HIT (Heparin Induced Thrombocytopenia) which can be a life threatening reaction to standard Heparin therapy post-op. He has a pulmonary embolism and a large clot in his leg and they are working on increasing his platelets. Dad is a hard working self-employed truck driver and this is going to put him out of work for the unforeseen future. Due to insurance and FMLA limitations, mom and dad have a long road ahead of them mentally, financially and health wise. We are pulling together as a family the best that we can but anything extra helps as mom will be his primary caregiver over the next few months. We do not have a discharge date yet and a lot is still unknown. We ask for your thoughts and prayers. He is someone who is always willing to lend a hand in need. We would love to pull those who love him together to return the many favors he has dealt. He is the best father and grandpa our family could ask for. We are happy to see him on the mend but we know he has quite the journey ahead.
