Health for Heather

If you know my best friend Heather (Leonard) Whitney, I hope you realize how incredibly lucky you are. Born exactly one month apart from each other and attending K-12 together I have been lucky enough to have the best, best friend anyone could hope for. As you likely know, she has been battling with health issues since the age of 10 when she was diagnosed with Type I diabetes. Heather has never let her disease define her or slow her down, and now has a beautiful family. Unfortunately over the past 5 years she has been diagnosed with multiple autoimmune diseases, which have recently forced her to be out of work. 

Schmidt’s Disease - trifecta of autoimmune diseases. Diabetes’s (26 years), thyroid disease (5 years) and Addison’s Disease (1.5 years). The combination of he three has made maintaining a normal day to day life style impossible for Heather and has had a serious impact on her loving family. She experiences extreme swings in her blood pressure and blood sugar as well as body tremors.

With having to go out of work indefinitely  she will not be able to afford her health care costs which cost hundreds of dollars per month because of all the medicine and blood sugar monitoring supplies she requires.

I am posting this in hopes that family, friends and others will be gracious enough to donate what they can to assist her with her medical bills.  Lets pull together and help out a family who are some of the most giving, and caring people I am lucky enough to know.
