(Kathy Calvin)Health Connections Inc (HCI) is a medical clinic that is a non-profit (IRS 501c3) community-based organization started in 2015 with the goal of filling the gap in healthcare access which leaves a significant portion of our community unnecessarily sick and unproductive! Although we care for all persons, we have a special focus on vulnerable populations that traditionally experience barriers to accessing health care. These populations include - but are not limited to - Youth, Underinsured, HIV+ and LGBTQ.We patiently educate clients on their healthcare options, enroll them in health insurance and advocate on their behalf with health plans, other health care providers and services. Our services include Primary Care, Behavioral Health, HIV Prevention/Care/Treatment, Hepatitis C Treatment, STI Prevention/Care/Treatment and Transgender Health.
COVID-19 SPECIAL REQUEST: Health Connections Inc. (HCI) has been providing a significant amount of COVID-19 community-based testing and community education to Milwaukee (WI) County residents since February 2020. COVID-19 testing is vital for reducing the transmission rate among marginalized communities who may not otherwise have access to these services. We also provide culturally appropriate community education / outreach and direct behavioral health crisis appointments for those in need of clearly communicated COVID-19 prevention, risk, and care options if they are infected and/or affected. HCI’s COVID-19 program is a crucial link and key contribution to control community infection and death in Milwaukee County - especially among those who have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19. We are in critical need of additional funding for PPE, COVID-19 testing supplies and staff time so that we can continue to serve our community. Your donation is truly appreciated.
