Meet the Travelling Menagerie!!
Hello, my name is Nicole Strauss, I'm a US Air Force Veteran who now travels across Europe for roughly 6 months of a year with my cousin Travis and my Menagerie of animals consisting of 8 dogs and 4 cats.
All but one of my dogs are rescues that I have collected over the years. Some having been born on my very own bed.
Seeing animals in need is something I've never been able to turn a blind eye too. Hence my large collection of animals, which includes several horses living in the U.K.
So as a result we've set myself and Travis some very clear rules when we come across animals in need. As much as I wish I could collect every stray and care for them, this is not realistic when living in a caravan with an existing pack of dogs.
That said we've already rescued 10 dogs, 7 being a set of puppies born on my bed, 3 of them finding a permanent home with ourselves!
All our animals receive top care. This includes vet visits, food, toys, leashes, collars, surgeries, vaccines, worming, flea treatment, so much more, and most importantly the pet passport.
You can imagine the surprise of border checks when I turn up with over 10 animals and equally as many passports.
None of these things are cheap or easy to come by. Thus we have created this fundraiser for people who have expressed the wish to donate money towards our cause.
In our care we currently have:
Velika - a pregnant Labrador breed that we picked up in Serbia. You can read up on her via our facebook and instagram pages. She hasn't long arrived with our group and we don't know if the puppies will survive with her being so underweight. But that's why we're going to try and save her and her potential pups.
All animals rescued with us will be rehomed into a safe new homes either on our travels or when we return to the UK. Until then they stay with us for however long they need.
Without the kind donations of individuals like yourselves we probably wouldn't be able to continue to saving these dogs. So thank you for making it possible for us to see a dog and say "yes... I can save you".
