Last year, thanks to all of you, my family and friends, we were able to come together through your donations to put together Halloween treat boxes, gifts, prizes, and gift cards for the children and families affected by the Sonoma & Napa County fires.  Despite the tragedy, we were able to put smiles on the faces of hundreds of children affected by the firestorms and was even captured by the local news station.

I did not intend for this to be an annual event but unfortunately, Northern California was once again devasted by the Lake & Mendocino County firestorms. Sadly, many children will not have their neighborhoods to go trick or treating and many families have lost everything.

My wonderful friends at North Bay Donate have reached out to me this year to see if "Emma and Family/Friends" can once again perform the magic of giving and help them with a free event they are sponsoring on October 6th.

This call to action has prompted me to reach out to all of you for generosity and support.  Much like last year, we plan to donate treat boxes, gift cards, and prizes for the event directly benefitting the Lake and Mendocino fire victims.  If you were part of this amazing gift-giving event last year, thanks again and I'm asking for your help one more time.  Any amount is greatly appreciated.  Thank you. #healloween2018

EDIT (recommended by GoFundMe for me to add this to my story)

My name is Emma Galvez and I currently reside in Rocklin.  I have created this fundraising campaign to support the non-profit group, North Bay Donate out of the Petaluma area.  My relationship with NBD began last year after the Napa and Sonoma County firestorms.  After seeing the devastation, I was compelled to do something to help with the displaced fire victims.  I started with a donation drive in which I collected much needed daily necessities from friends and family and I dropped them off at NBD and at the local food bank.  I then went on to do a very successful Halloween event and was able to donate 200 treat boxes, dozens of gift baskets and hundreds of dollars in gift cards that were distributed at two events.  One was hosted by NBD and the other by The Boys and Girls' Club.  With the success of that event, I did another Christmas Stocking campaign and delivered 100 stockings to the Christmas at Coffey Park event.  I was also able to donate dozens of gift cards for displaced families which were distributed by NBD.

This year, NBD  contacted me as they needed help with the free park event at Clear Lake on Saturday, October 6th which would be benefitting the children and families directly affected by the Lake & Mendocino County firestorm.  The funds from this campaign will be used to purchase supplies for the  Halloween treat boxes and games prizes which will be handed out at the event.  Gift cards for displaced families will also be purchased and distributed by NBD.
On Saturday, October 6th, we will be headed to the park event at Clear Lake to distribute the treat boxes and prizes and provide NBD with the gift cards which will be distributed to displaced families that they are already working to support.

Thank you very much for your kind donation and support.
