Welcome to Sky’s GoFundMe page which is rallying our communities to assist Sky Hegedus and her family as she fights (and triumphs over) breast cancer.
On November 22, 2017, we found out that our dear friend Sky was diagnosed with Stage II Breast Cancer. While this has come as a complete shock to Sky, her family, and her friends, we are confident that she will pull through this difficult time stronger than ever. However, the months ahead will be challenging, as Sky is scheduled to undergo a mastectomy and chemotherapy in January 2018.
Those who know Sky have experienced her kindness, tenacity, and benevolent loving spirit. She is first and foremost a supportive wife to her husband Joe, and devoted mother to their 4 yr old daughter Luna and kitty Alfie. She is also a Pilates and yoga instructor and so much more at the studio she owns in Tiburon, and a volunteer to the larger Marin community. Sky has a keen sense of humor and the rare gift of not taking herself too seriously. She has been known to carefully and lovingly hand-make dozens of intricate party favors and always leaves her own stamp of creativity on every project she touches.
Sky is committed to humanitarianism and often puts everyone’s needs above and before her own. She is always willing to lend a hand, a shoulder to cry on, or provide moments of laughter to cheer you up. She has spent the past decade helping others reach their health, wellness and happiness goals. One of her favorite places to teach yoga is at the Center Point women’s and children’s treatment center. Despite her busy schedule, this is her seva (selfless service) class and is taught without pay. She also teaches kid’s yoga and mindfulness in a variety of local communities and donates her time, profits, and extensive business expertise to local causes, non-profits, small businesses and entrepreneurs.
Now, we are asking Sky’s amazing network of family and friends to help Sky in her time of need…
Sky’s bravery and determination to beat cancer is phenomenal and her positive outlook is steadfast. Those of us who love her will do everything we can to support her in this process. That said, the emotional, physical and financial burdens of surviving breast cancer are overwhelming. While Sky is one of the healthiest and fittest people we know, and this certainly lies strongly in her favor, she will miss weeks of work and face high medical bills outside what’s covered by her deductible and insurance. Monetary donations are greatly needed to help Sky and her family cover medical bills, lost wages, and holistic treatments to help Sky battle adverse effects of chemo.
Please consider donating to Sky through her GoFundMe page! If you are not able to make a financial donation, there are many other ways to lend your support to Sky and her family, especially if you are local. Please follow the links below to support Sky, and THANK YOU for visiting her page and lending your support.
With love and gratitude,
Sky's Family and Friends
