Imagine your child being born, his development seeming normal, as they live an active life and in their early thirties they develop debilitating symptoms
including whole body aches and signs of decreased mobility.
Our son Joseph was 34, when diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis.
My husband and I sought medical expertise hoping there was a solid answer, for which there was a remedy.
After consulting with a myriad of medical professionals, it was concluded that
our son had Ankylosing Spondylitis.
We were heartbroken when his doctor told us that Ankylosing Spondylitis is a genetic autoimmune condition, for which there is no known cure and is
debilitating to the muscular and skeletal system.
As grim as this sounds, his condition makes it very hard for him to move around and do small everyday menial tasks, including eating, bathing and self care.
Fusing of the spinal cord has begun for Joseph and his
right arm muscles are partially atrophied.
After three years of a myriad of research seeking solutions, to help turn this condition around, we are making this attempt to pursue holistic care, including a local board certified MD, who is also a naturopathic doctor, who has been highly recommended.
We love our son and our fulltime caregiving will continue, as will our plight to help him live as comfortably as possible.
He spends 80 percent of his day in his Pride Lift Chair,
as he can no longer walk, without the assistance of a walker.
He can no longer turn his neck nor walk with his head
fully raised.
The condition has progressed rapidly and we are feeling desperate to explore holistic remedies, since the recommended pharmaceutical drugs have added adverse reactions.
Holistic care is not covered by insurance, we need
funds to rapidly pursue alternative care.
Without financial assistance our family would not be able to bear the cost of his care , as we still have four young teenagers at home.
We are asking for your help to be able to get the
holistic care for our son and prevent foreclosure of his handicapped accessible home, enabling him to live as normal a life as possible with his condition.
