Healing for Heath

Let me start by saying that asking for help does not come easily to me. I am a private person when it comes to family life. But this is not about me or my pride any longer. Heath is a beautiful, kind, and loving 9 year old boy living with a neurological developmental disability, high functioning autism, ADHD, and high anxiety. We have recently taken Heath out of school to try to lower his rising anxiety levels which have become very concerning and unmanageable at times.

Through much prayer and research we believe that we have found a program that will work for our family.

The Son-Rise Start up Program at The Autism Treatment Center of America is located in Massachusetts and is a comprehensive weeklong group training program delivering all the fundamental skills and techniques necessary to design and implement a home-based, loving child-centered program.  http://www.autismtreatmentcenter.org

The cost of the start up program is $2200 PLUS travel expenses. ($650 airfare, rental car, etc) I will be attending the class on April 8 while my husband stays home with Heath. This is the first of 3 programs. We feel hopeful and are eager to learn skills that will empower us to build a bridge into his world & visa versa. We pray it will lower his anxiety.
