Last year Mom developed a hernia. She was in overall great health otherwise and the hernia repair seemed simple enough...
Flash forward and 6 surgeries later (3 for the hernia, 1 to remove cancer and 2 lymph-nodes, 1 to attempt to fix the organ prolapse she devolved after the hernia surgeries), Mom is left in constant pain, has a stage 4 organ prolapse and her quality of life has steadily deteriorated.
Prior to the hernia surgery, Mom enjoyed watching and playing with grandchildren...which she is no longer well enough to do (she can't currently even lift them). She tires easily, and too much movement or activity can be enough to send her to the ER (15 visits this year alone so far). If things continue as they are, Moms health is only going to get worse and worse; the past few months Mom has required a catheter, which has led to several infections. For anyone who knows Mom, you know she never stops moving (cooking, gardening, being outdoors), so you can imagine her being rendered nearly immobile has left her spirit dimmed, and honestly for a short while we felt pretty hopeless that we'd get her back to where she was a year ago.

He's laid out a detailed, multi step plan and it truly beacons as our saving grace!
