Healing Henry Jackow

Donation protected
Our little Henry will be 3 in May. He is the oldest child to Donny and Cat, and a big brother to baby Georgia. Henry is quite the guy. For a 2 year old boy he has an incredibly sharp mind, he is quick to tell you the proper names of all the construction equipment at a job site. He’s always the first one to spot an airplane or the moon (even if it’s just a thin sliver, in the daytime). He LIVES for his “little bit of Paw Patrol” and his 3 books each night before bed. And once he’s outside, good luck trying to get him to come in for lunch! Henry loves playtime with his 4 cousins and his friends at “Shell’s”.

On January 30th Henry was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive type of brain cancer, known as ETMR/ETANTR. This type of cancer has only been found in children under the age of 4 and only has approximately 100 documented cases in medical literature.  On February 1st Henry underwent a 9 hour surgery to remove a large Grade 4 malignant tumor. We are terribly grateful for the gifted hands and brilliant minds of the health care professionals that have accompanied Henry on this difficult journey to date.

The first leg of Henry’s journey will begin at the Manitoba Children’s Hospital in Winnipeg.  He will undergo a 3-6 month treatment regime which will include chemotherapy and stem cell transplants. The journey will be long and hard for the little man.

The family is so blessed and grateful for all of the support and prayers they have received from family, friends and co-workers, and Henry is so fortunate to have such a large and amazing group of cheerleaders in his corner.  Our family has had many people reach out in regards to financial assistance to help ease the financial burden. All funds raised through GoFundMe will be used for travel, accommodations, meals and any other miscellaneous expenses related to the family’s extended stay in Winnipeg and future appointments/treatments.

Any surplus funds will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities and/or designated to  ETMR/ETANTR brain cancer research.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for considering us in your thoughts. To say that Henry means the world to us is such an understatement, he is such a special little boy. Words can’t express our appreciation for any help you may be willing to offer. With your support, we can meet this challenge, focused on what matters most to us, HEALING HENRY JACKOW.

!!!UPDATE!!!
We knew Henry had a lot of cheerleaders but we are in disbelief at how many people have reached out and provided their support since the page was launched! We are just overwhelmed and wanted everyone to know how grateful we are, the words thank you just don't seem to be enough. It is also important for us to reiterate that any surplus funds will be will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House Charities and/or designated to  ETMR/ETANTR brain cancer research.  Since our goal has been exceeded we will be closing the campaign this evening (01/16/2018). We will continue to leave this page active so that we can continue providing everyone with Henry's milestones.

This page was created by Courtney Aschenbrenner, Henry's Auntie. The funds rasied for Henry will be deposited directly into an account for the family.
