UPDATE, 5/6
On Tuesday, 5/8, Cash will be hospitalized for a ph probe impedance study which will help doctors learn more about his reflux. These findings should give them more information for his Nissen fundoplication surgery, a procedure involving the stomach and esophagus and designed to limit reflux. Surgery is currently scheduled for 5/14 and would also feature the installation of a port in his abdomen for a GJ tube, a feeding tube that would go straight into his intestine, eliminating the need for the current nasal tube.
We are so grateful to report that Cash is growing well, and his development is on track, but despite a variety of methods employed by two teams of doctors, he is still not gaining weight at a healthy pace, and we are no closer to understanding why that is or how to help. It has been a frustrating road, to put it mildly. Jon and Sarah, along with their doctors, had hoped to avoid surgery, but at this time feel hopeful that this may be what ends up helping sweet Cash.
The updated timelines appear that Cash will continue to need the feeding tube for an additional six months, and he will likely need oral therapy, in addition to continued monitoring.

The Reiblich and Hallis Families
BACKGROUND
Sarah and Jon Reiblich welcomed their son, Cash Ellis, on January 16, 2018. At four weeks, on Valentine's Day, Cash began receiving medical attention for persistent vomiting and failure to thrive. Nearly two weeks later, when neither reflux medication, an elimintation diet nor hypoallergenic formula made any discernible difference in his weight or symptoms, he was admitted to the University of Maryland Medical Center for observation and testing. The goal of his hospitalization is to determine the cause of his failure to thrive and to help him gain weight so he may go home and grow and develop in a healthy way.
Sarah and Jon have been spending their nights with Cash at the hopsital, about an hour's drive from their home. Sarah stays with him round the clock while Jon continues working long days to provide for the family. As you might imagine, this process is taking an enormous emotional and financial toll on them.
We all wish we could do more to help sweet Baby Cash and his parents. Our goal is to raise money to help with incidentals that come up as they are staying away from home, as they are unsure of what the long-term financial toll of Cash's care will be, and as Jon misses work to be with his son. Our hope is that supporting them in this way might ease some of the strain of walking this uncertain road.
Sarah, Jon and the entire Reiblich and Hallis families are so humbled by and grateful for the prayers and messages of love so many of you have shared.
