Healing Heart Fund

On December 18th Mike Debert and  Brandi Good received an early Christmas present - a new heart for Mike!  The surgery went very well and Mike is on his new journey to recovery.  This surgery also involved the removal of his implanted LVAD device and cardiac defibrillator which kept him alive while he waited five years for his transplant.

While Mike does receive some funding for medical-related expenses, it doesn't cover all of the costs involved in living in Edmonton while still paying all the bills at home.  In addition, Mike will have to return to Edmonton monthly for ongoing treatment.  Any funds raised will help with extra costs related to medication, transportation, meals, and accommodation, plus ongoing costs at home in Regina.

Out-of-province transplant patients are required to stay in Edmonton for a minimum of three months after surgery if all goes well, and then return to Edmonton on a monthly schedule for up to a year after transplant for regular procedures and checkups.  

All donations will assist Mike and Brandi defray the significant costs they will incur in the coming year while they access the continuing medical care to keep Mike's heart beating strong and well.

And it will do your heart good as well!
