Healing Haven (lyme disease)

Donation protected
Please meet Haven, our 12 year old daughter.  Haven loves life, and helping others (especially in Guatemala where we are missionaries).  She was always happy and vibrant.  Now most days she is debilitated due to Lyme disease that has not responded to treatments.  The mornings are the most difficult, as she struggles to walk.  Often Haven's entire body aches, but her head and joints most of all.  Even in her pain, Haven mentions and Prays for others suffering worse than she is.  We know that God has a plan in all of this, and that someday she will be able to help others again, which is her heart.

Christian books and music are very important to Haven, especially to get through the pain.  'Jesus Calling' , written by Sarah Young, who also had Lyme, helps tremendously.   The song, "It's Not Over Yet", by For King and Country was inspired one of their sisters with Lyme.  You can learn more here:  The story behind the song "It's Not Over Yet"  or you can  listen to the song here.  Haven listens to it many times a day.  We hope it helps you whatever you may be journeying through as well.

Haven's desire is to heal so that she can help others who are suffering.  She wants to live life, and be happy again.  Prayer is what is needed most...it is what matters most!

Haven is loved by everyone she meets.  Her heart for our Lord and others less fortunate absolutely amazes us.  Haven was diagnosed with Lyme disease in Sept 2018, after a several year decline in her health.  By Christmas, she was unable to use one arm and struggled to even open her gifts.  She is no longer able to ascend stairs, to walk well, to read as she'd like, and often struggles to carryon meaningful conversations.  This once vibrant girl is now confined to bed most days, yet she tries so hard not to be.

In February, we hospitalized her and began a second round of treatments.  To date, with two rounds of treatments completed, the Lyme has not gone into remission.  Additional testing has shown Haven has a genetic condition which compounds the severity of her illness, making it much more difficult to treat.   After tremendous research, we've found a specialist in the US that fully understands the combined condition and how to treat it.

We are very Hopeful, especially with everyone now learning about Haven's need and Praying for her.  However, financially we cannot afford the treatment for Haven, as it is very specialized.  Being missionaries we have often pleaded for others and watched our Lord accomplish miracles within their lives.  We now plead for a miracle in Haven's life.  We've dedicated our hearts to helping others, but now find ourselves in need.   Please consider helping Haven.  We greatly appreciate you and all your Prayers...

ps:   We are only asking for help with the Exams, Lab Work, Medicine, and Treatments, none of which are covered by our insurance.  We  will cover all travel and lodging expenses during Haven's extended treatments.

There is a 4 to 6 month waiting list with the specialist, and we could not schedule Haven's treatment without a large downpayment (which was just covered by family).   We urgently wait in Prayer, knowing that our Lord will provide everything needed.   Thank you in advance for Praying with us and for us!

"In faith believing", that there is healing for our precious Haven.
