As many of you know, my partner of 8 years was diagnosed with esophageal cancer in 2016. It’s been a harrowing and long journey but the worst is behind us. I’m happy to report that she is cancer-free, and a tremendous amount of healing and recovery has happened.
However, radiation and chemotherapy have not been without lasting effects: she currently is living with a breathing disability, which is the last major hurdle for her to contend with, limiting her ability to live her new life fully. The medical doctors have no more answers, and we are seeking help beyond their scope. Our biggest hope for help lies in alternative treatments.
The help and support she has received from acupuncture and healing treatments have been essential in her recovery. While we have been incredibly fortunate during this whole ordeal to have the conventional portion of the treatment covered through insurance, we now find ourselves falling short in this last stretch. As you know, non-medical treatments are not covered by insurance, and what she needs now will come through out-of-pocket expense.
We are humbly asking those who can, to chip in to support us in our effort to fundraise for alternative treatments. We are grateful for any amount you feel compelled to give, and for your support in all ways.
