To know Elumina Mendez is to know strength, love, and light. She is a daughter, cousin, sister, and friend who has always lifted up the people around her. Elumina is only 40 years old and currently fighting for her life on life support after being diagnosed with advanced heart failure. 
 
Despite this being hereditary, Elumina continues to fight with courage and strength. Her path forward depends on a heart transplant, a challenging journey we hold faith she will overcome. Elumina’s spirit shines with resilience, and our family holds tightly to faith and strength for her.
