Delbert's Fighting Heart

FOR OUR SWEET BABY DELBERT!
Back in April 2017 we found out we were expecting another miracle after having had fertility treatment to get our first son. On August 17th we found out our baby had a heart defect called aortic stenosis. We have been away from home since November. We uprooted our little family to temporarily move to Denver so we could get the best care possible for our little Delbert. Delbert was born December 19th 2017. Right after he was born he had his first 2 surgical cath procedures to try fixing his aortic stenosis, but it didn't do what we were hoping and his heart defect turned into HLHS. This made his surgical option turn into a three stage open heart surgical plan (Norwood, Glenn, fontan). Delbert has only had his Norwood procedure, and has had many complications unfortunately. Now, since his birth he has had 10 surgical procedures, 4 of which have been open heart, and 2 rounds of ECMO (ecmo is no longer an option for Del if he crashes a thrid time). During Delbert's 2nd round of ECMO he suffered a severe stroke causing him to lose almost his entire left side of his brain. He is a very rare case the doctors don't see often. After all Del has been through he is still fighting for his life and will continue to do so until he and God tell us otherwise. It is scary knowing he still has so much more to go through...
