Healing Arms For Karen

March 2015, Karen was diagnosed with breast cancer. She battled with strength, courage and determination. Our family, Jay her husband, her two sons and two step kids and amazing teams of angels for friends, supported her along her trying journey.
She has gone from working everyday vigorously and patiently without the cancer, to doing the same even while dealing with chemo treatments and pain.
Though we had the struggles of watching her go through turmoil and her smile lost at times, we stuck it out, together as a family.
When she lost her eyelashes, she lost her hair, she never lost her will to fight.
Because of her determination and support, that was full of love, she defeated cancer at Concord NH Breast Cancer Center.
We had been doing wonderfully. She got a new location for her hair studio, her hair had grown in stunningly, Jay graduated from college, she was radiating.
In July 2017,  that unfortunately isn't the same case. Every bit of light has a bit of darkness.
The cancer came back, but we were lucky enough to have the doctors catch it early!
Due to the fact that she can not go through radiation in the same spot again, she has made the decision to get a
double mastectomy, at Dartmouth Hitchcock NH.
We are staying positive thinking things like "oh yay! New boobies!" Or "loosing the tummy never has been so easy", but jokes are just putting a vail over a sad face.
Going through a mastectomy is NOT easy, nor is this a joking matter. After battling this already and being relieved from overcoming a huge obstacle in her life, it has come back.
This is so trying in someone's heart and family and friends. She will overcome this and she will be OK. There is no doubt in her succeeding.
As much as this is pulling on our emotional heart strings, cancer has also affected my mom and family financially. Between bills from the hospital as well as everyday bills, the pain seems to keep piling higher. My parents aren't getting any younger and I want their future to be less stressful and happier.
I am asking for support in helping my mom and family with lifting the burden of financial debt and bringing back a little more optimism for her and her soul.
There are so many things she had been looking forward to doing, starting a new path in a career, going back to school, moving into a smaller more quaint home, the medical expansives are going to be extremely high. Being self employed woman she will be going down to a one income and this would becomes more of a hardship on the family. She doesn't need any more rain clouds. Any donation helps, and the more we spread the word the more help will come through.
I know we all have our hard times in life and, life isn't ever going to be easy, but when you find your tribe and you love them hard, they will love you just as much. I feel Karen has enveloped herself in such a cocoon of amazing people that she will turn out amazingly with your help. We all want what's best for her and together I think we can do that.
Life isn't about how to survive the storm but how to dance in the rain.
Thank you.
