Heal Willa's Heart

My niece Willa is full of so much life, love, and fire. She brings joy wherever she goes, and she doesn't even know how much she has already overcome. At three years old, she's tougher than most adults I know. 
Unfortunately, Willa has a condition called tricuspid valve regurgitation . This means the valve connecting her two right heart chambers doesn't close properly and blood leaks back into the atrium, causing enlargement of the heart. She needs life-saving surgery that will take place at Boston Children's Hospital. Her doctors want to operate in the spring of 2019, when she will be old enough to withstand the six hour open heart procedure but not so old that the muscle of her heart is too tough. After the operation Willa will spend one week in the cardiac ICU. Once she is discharged, Willa will stay out of school for two months to recover. She will have a metal plate in her chest holding her sternum together, and there will be many physical restrictions on her movement while healing occurs. 
Willa is stable right now, but if her doctors decide the operation must be moved up, these costs will pile up alarmingly fast. I'm starting this fundraiser now to make sure the money is there when the family needs it. I estimate the cost to the Brindley family will be:
$2000 insurance deductible
$1500 for a week in a hotel in the Longwood area (her parents will alternate staying in the hospital, but will need another place to stay)
$800 for food, gas, and parking
$800 childcare
$400 other expenses
$6000 total
My sister is an incredible mother. She and Mike have raised Willa as a kind, loving child full of smiles and jokes, and I want to help them overcome this bump in what will be a remarkable and long life for their daughter.
