Heal Little Lucy Mae

Little Lucy Mae was born in a horrible puppy mill in Ohio and at 2 years old made her way to Florida to be sold.  My friend, Joanna, saw Lucy in a pen behind a feed store with 20 other Pomeranians sitting in feces and filth, no food or water, all looking ragged and malnourished.  Lucy had been cast away because she would not breed for the puppy miller.  Joanna wanted to save them all, but could only take one.  Joanna took Lucy home that day.  Lucy was very scared, her hair was brittle and you could feel her bones, but with love and care, she blossomed into an incredibly sweet and loving companion.

A couple of days ago Joanna walked out of the bedroom and Lucy jumped off the couch in excitement, but somehow landed the wrong way on her leg.  Lucy was screaming in pain and Joanna ran to her aid to find she could not walk and was in agony.  She rushed Lucy to the vet and to their horror she had broken her leg and  had emergency surgery at Affiliated Veterinary Services in Maitland on Oct. 22.  So far she is doing ok.  The expense is a great burden to Joanna who borrowed money from a family member, but there are still more expenses to come.  Her dog means more than anything in the world and we would be so grateful for any help at all.   Please donate via this campaign or make a donation directly to AVS at 9905 S. U.S. Highway 17-92, Maitland, FL [phone redacted].  Thank you so much for helping us heal little Lucy Mae.
