Ebani's Healing Journey

Ebani is one of those rare people we all hope to meet in life. She has light in her eyes and her genuine happiness is always glowing. She has invested deeply in her own growth through never-ending curiosity, her thirst for knowledge, and the empathy she exercises for her fellow humans. And... she loves her internet memes and her canine companion Lucky Uno ;-)
In January of this year, Ebani discovered she had breast cancer - because of the size of the tumors doctors immediately started treatment. She kept her cancer diagnosis completely private because she didn’t want to burden anyone or be treated differently – only telling her family and a few close friends. For those of us who did know, she selflessly tried to protect us from shouldering the weight of her cancer. This is who Ebani is at her core, worrying herself over concern and love for others before her own health and needs.
Bi-weekly chemo turned into weekly chemo, completely draining her energy and causing physical challenges that prevented her from living life how she would normally. Because of the risk of infection from others, Ebani had to stop working at the pharmacy and pause her pursuit of her graduate studies in mortuary science. Ebani pushed herself to keep modeling as long as possible in order to support herself financially.
At the end of August Ebani had her double mastectomy, she still has several surgeries to go.
In true selfless Ebani-way, she did not want to ask anyone for financial help. She has carried herself this far, and without any immediate family in Minnesota, we know that it’s time for Ebani’s friends and broader community to lift Ebani up through this phase of her fight against breast cancer. Funds raised will allow Ebani to rest and fight cancer without the stress of managing living expenses and rising medical costs. She will need at least six months of support while she undergoes additional surgeries and recovery periods.
