Headache to Brain Tumour

One day, I started feeling like I had low blood pressure, and that continued for a few days. Then, I had a headache. I thought, no big deal, I'll sleep it off. A week later, I still had the headache. I was studying pre-chiropractic at the time, and I'm very against putting chemicals, such as panadol etc., so I never took any. This headache went on for a couple of weeks before my migraine kicked in, followed by double vision, and of course, nearly two weeks of throwing my guts up and living off bread. This all happened in the space of a month, and I was pretty freaked out. I went to A&E, twice in a weekend, purely because I wasn't happy with being given a concoction of meds and sent on my way. 

I Skyped my mum, told her everything, and had her say to me that I should go to an optometrist. So that Tuesday, I had an adjustment (#chiroforlife!) and then went to my optometrist. Thankfully, my optometrist knew what she was looking at and had typed up a letter to take to Greenlane Emergency Eye Clinic. I was told not to read it and google words I didn't understand, so my wonderful flat mates Ella and Julia did instead, and they had come and waited with me for hours, literally! 

The next day, I had a brain MRI at Auckland City Hospital, and was told I had a 5x6cm  tumour. After crying my eyes out, I was scheduled for a de-bulking of my tumour the following week. My mum had come over from Darwin to be with me which was amazing! I then had a meeting with my neurosurgeon, who had told me that the tumour was a stage 4 glioblastoma. So a very serious brain tumour. They scheduled me in for another operation, which was good because it had almost grown back to the same size.. 

I then had meetings and appointments regarding fertility issues, chemo and radiation, which when you've just turned 21 is somewhat overwhelming. I decided I wanted tackle this as naturally as possible. So it was a 'no' to the fertility treatments and chemo, but a 'yes' to radiation. 

During this time, I did some research of my own, with a help from my biggest supporters. I watched a documentary series called 'The Truth About Cancer' (an absolute must watch!), spoke to people who have had cancer, and googled as much as I could. In the radiation process, I ended up losing a half head of hair, and getting extremely exhausted. 

Now that my radiation has finished and we're heading back to Darwin (still not having taken the chemo), there is a clinic in Tijuana (yes, Mexico) that deals with cancer cases and does it in a natural manner. I would love to go over there and experience it all for myself, and more so, fully kick this tumours butt! This is my journey to find ultimate health, and it's leading me to Tijuana.
