Head Shaving For Breast Cancer Awareness

Hello, my name is Will Duncanson! 

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I will be shaving my head to raise money for Breast Cancer research and awareness. 

My goal is to raise as much money as possible- with all the proceeds going to The Baldwin Fund; a CNY based Non-profit, which focuses on creating greater awareness for Breast Cancer as well as extensive research into finding a cure.

This is a cause that really hits home for me. My mother, the strongest person I know, is a 15-year Breast Cancer survivor. I was really young when my Mom was diagnosed and going through the treatment, but, even at such a young age, I could see how much pain she went through on a daily basis; fighting for her life. I am so lucky to be able to say that my Mom is a survivor, but there are so many kids, husbands and friends that can’t say the same.

Here are some mind-boggling statistics:
--1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer over their lifetime
--In 2020 alone, it’s estimated that 276,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer          are expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S 
--About 42,170 women in the U.S. are expected to die in 2020 from breast cancer
--As of January 2020, there were more than 3.5 million women with a history of          breast cancer in the U.S. 
Pretty awful right? 

The great women across our country need our help to try to put an end to this horrible disease.
