Head and Neck Cancer Fundraising

I am starting this Go Fund Me page for Gee Asamoah. Gee is a husband and a father of three very young children. Gee was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer early last year, when doctors discovered a huge tumor in his head. The good news was that the cancer had not metastasized. He quickly underwent a 17 hour surgery to remove a tumor twice the size of a tennis ball from the canal that connects the back of the nose to the ear. Since then, Gee has had additional surgeries, and spent quite some time at the hospital learning to talk and do some basic things again.

The family thought everything was almost over, but  the doctors have discovered that he needs additional surgeries to correct his vocal cord, his jaw bone, and the canal the links the back of the nose and the ear. Unfortunately, Gee’s health insurance is not comprehensive enough to cover the total cost for this urgently needed surgery in order to be cancer free. His out of pocket costs are too much for the family handle as well. With mounting medical bills, he and the family have completely wiped their savings and sold belongings to pay for his medical bills that keeps coming. His continuous demand for medical and personal care, coupled with juggling three very young children have made it impossible for the wife to work enough to pay for his medical bills and to support the family.

Gee needs close to $30,000 to have these urgently needed surgeries. Family and friends have made efforts to help, but those efforts are nowhere close to the amount needed for the surgeries.

I felt drawn that some good people were in a tough spot and could use some help, so I am asking for as many people to help raise at least $20,000 which is why I’ve created this GoFundMe to help pay for the additional surgeries he urgently needs.
