The Homestretch

As some of you know, our path to permanent residency in the U.S. has been a long and complicated one, but thanks to the support of friends, family, and of Victor's employer (Truman State University) we're finally looking at the homestretch, the final step in our process of application for resident status.
What some of you might not know is that the previous steps have been very expensive, and after paying and/or committing to pay tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees in recent years we are out of resources. This final step is also expensive, and we have everything we need for a successful application but the funds. This is why (after thinking about it A LOT), we have decided to reach out for help.
When we came here in 2006 for graduate school, the plan was to stay for a couple of years and then go back home, but due to a number of reasons (mainly the Venezuelan collapse, today a full-blown humanitarian crisis https://www.iom.int/venezuela-refugee-and-migrant-crisis ) we kept postponing that return. Over 13 years later we feel blessed to be here, the U.S. has become our new home and our daughter's only one.
