He is Born - Oratorio

Hello! My name is Brendan Child, and I am a composer based in Salt Lake City, UT. I have been given the opportunity to compose music telling the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. I am hoping to take this amazing project to London to record such an incredible story with one of the greatest orchestras on earth: the London Symphony Orchestra.

This musical narrative offers an emotional perspective, coloring the words of Mary, Joseph, Elizabeth, the Angel Gabriel, Innkeepers, and other special roles within the story of the Nativity. There is nothing of this magnitude being attempted with this incredible story. As composer of this program, I take it upon myself to craft a live experience that will ring in the hearts of everybody who will hear this show. They will not only come to know that He was born, but that He lived, taught, healed, and died for us. Your support will provide the means to get this program recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra, and will help to circulate ‘He is Born’ across the globe.

The London Symphony Orchestra is responsible for over 200 of the most iconic Hollywood film scores, including The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Superman: The Movie. So the opportunity to stand in front of the London Symphony Orchestra is an opportunity most composers only dream of.

This campaign will pay for the use of the orchestra, two days at Abbey Road Studios in London, and will pay the salaries of the choir.
