Hello, we're GCDA and we’re about to launch a new community hub in central Greenwich. The Old Police Station is currently just a shell, and we need YOUR help to turn it into a vibrant community hub that’s open to all.
From plasterboard to paint, furniture to fire doors, we hope to build a fully accessible training kitchen as well as a comfortable classroom from which to run our free community training programme. We're also hoping to house our flagship Made in Greenwich shop on-site so we can continue to support local artists and makers to flourish. In addition, there’ll be a welcoming space for people to pause, chill out, have a coffee and make connections.
At GCDA (Greenwich Cooperative Development Agency) we've been working for more than 40 years helping create sustainable thriving communities in which everyone can realise their true potential. Based in South East London, we manage community hubs, offer free training, support local entrepreneurs, initiate social enterprises, and run a wide range of food-related projects.
A not-for-profit organisation that started as a co-op, until recently we've been housed on a small industrial estate in Greenwich. However, our move will give us the chance to create an outstanding community facility that's fully accessible to all.
We know we're living in very difficult times, and that you'll have lots of financial commitments already, but if you can spare even a few pounds to support us, we'd be incredibly grateful. With your help, we can really make a difference and create a fully accessible, beautiful space that sits right at the heart of our community. Thankyou so much from all at GCDA.
