Miss Evich's Class Christmas

Hello all friends, family, and generous people! I wanted to reach out during the holidays to express my concern for a need that I see every day in my classroom. I am the proud teacher of 23 beautiful third graders, who I love and cherish very much.  Unfortunately, a lot of these students will not have the same Christmas as I will, or as many of my friends and family will. They come from families that work extraordinarily hard for them and have dedicated their lives to provide everything they can for them. By working so hard to provide for their basic needs, and support their education, there is not always enough room to go above and beyond during the Christmas season. I have encountered the most loving parents that so desperately want what is best for their children, but may not be able to provide it this holiday season. A lot of my students will not experience the joys of Christmas, because there will be no tree, no gifts, and no Santa. They are forced to grow up too quickly, and face the harsh realities of their lives. I am asking that you consider donating a little something to go towards Christmas gifts for all of my students this year. It would mean the world to me, and I know it would mean the world to them. I can just imagine their faces glowing, as they realize they have something to open on Christmas morning :) They are the most grateful bunch of children that I have ever met! Your donation will be used to purchase 23 giftcards to Target or Walmart, to give to their parents to get them a Christmas gift this holiday season. Our last day of school is December 23rd, but I would hope to have donations in by the weekend before (December 18th-20th), so that I have time to go and purchase them and send them home, and so that parents have time to go and get the gifts before Christmas.
