Due to the generosity of our supporters to date, we managed to secure land in Prahova România and have been able to open our ‘KALM’ Animal Shelter.
We have already been able to make a difference by taking in several dogs and cats who were due to be pts from the kill shelter.
We have also taken in many stray dogs including several puppies off the streets. This is just the start, there is still much more work to do at the shelter in Romania including making it winter proof as currently all the dogs live outdoors.
Helping Dogs and Cats UK Rescue are looking to raise £10,000 to build a shelter in Romania and a mini shelter the UK.
Who We Are?
Helping Dogs & Cats UK Rescue are a non-profit UK animal rescue based in Basingstoke. Our mission is to rescue, rehome and rehabilitate dogs and cats from the UK and Romania. We do this by working directly with individuals across the UK, and with rescues in Romania. Our small team is staffed by volunteers, who are true animal lovers and passionate about animal welfare, freely giving up their time. This means every penny we receive goes directly to helping dogs and cats. Since being established in 2018, we have rescued and rehomed over 1000 dogs and cats. Our Big Plans The shelter in Romania, will allow us to rescue those dogs and cats from kill shelters, the streets, abuse, abandonment, poison, and torture. We will be able to offer safe and secure shelter and kennels, food, veterinary care, microchipping, spaying, and neutering. Each rescue will be fully assessed and rehabilitated before being rehomed in the UK to a loving family. For the mini shelter in the UK, it will allow us to offer a safe and secure space for those dogs and cats, who find themselves abandon, unwanted, have been identified as welfare cases or are in-between homes. Onsite facilities would include a grooming area, small shop, kitchen, storage bay and accommodation for staff to stay on site. We would also be able to host community events to help us continue to raise funds for the rescue. We know our plans our big – but we also know that if we work together anything is possible! Your support means a great deal to us, and it will allow us to continue to help dogs and cats it need and continuing doing what we love!
