Help Michelle Fight Cancer

Donation protected
Hey, my name is Andrea and I’m here to ask for help on behalf of someone who has put others before herself for her entire life. My mother Michelle was diagnosed last summer with stage 4 cancer of the breast, which has also spread to her liver and spine. Most recently, the cancer has spread to the lining of her skull. With this news, we have reached a point where Cancer Care Manitoba has essentially given up on her. The conversations have changed from, how do we improve her condition? To, how do we make her comfortable for death? Her prognosis was originally given as two years, and here we are discussing palliative care at only ten months in.

My mom is only 53 years old. She still has so much left to experience in this lifetime. I’m not ready to be without a mother, and thankfully she isn’t ready to throw in the towel yet either. She has remained positive and full of faith throughout this entire process. Through the migraines and the nausea she continues to pray, and continues to smile. I wish I could find the words to describe exactly what a ray of light she is. She inspires me so much.

We are currently looking at plans for a treatment centre that has solutions which aren’t even talked about in Canada, but it comes at a price that’s out of our reality. Michelle is the type of person who would help others in a heartbeat but would seemingly rather die here than to ask for help of her own. So here I am, asking for your help.

I can’t watch her die here knowing that there might be another option out there that could save her.

The first trip to this clinic will last four weeks, and will cost approximately $20,000 USD (26,000 Canadian). Ideally we would like to get her there by the beginning of May. She will need to return to the clinic for more than one treatment, as long as the first round brings a positive outcome. We are hoping to cover the cost of the first 2-3 trips. We have a friend living in Winnipeg that has traveled to this same clinic after being told her time was up from Cancer Care MB. She was given two weeks to live, two years ago.

I would do anything to have another two years with my mom.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read through this, and we appreciate any prayers and support that can be offered at this time.
