Katie's Medical Expenses

Katie and Nate Bruce were married 4 1/2 years ago.
Like any newlyweds, they began to plan their future and soon after, began to think of starting a family.
Unfortunately, Katie suffers from Stage 4 endometriosis,(read here all about the condition: http://www.nichd.nih.gov/health/topics/endometri/Pages/default.aspx) After numerous treatments and over over 13 surgeries nothing has helped her condition. As time went on, the pain from this disease was present every day of the month. Katie was forced to resign from her full time position two years ago at the Moyer Foundation in Seattle which raises money for children who have lost a loved one.
In August of 2013, Katie had her most recent surgery and was told her chances to ever conceive were almost nil. After going to a fertility specialist, Katie and Nate went through many tests and found that they were not even candidates for conventional fertility treatments.
Katie's lifelong dream of having children, from her own body, was now over.
On Monday, November 24, Katie will have a hysterectomy to hopefully reduce the pain she has experienced for over 12 years because of endometriosis.
In addition, due to the landlord increasing their rent by $450/month, she and Nate have to be out of their apartment the Sunday following her surgery.
Due to the medical costs of the fertility specialist, countless surgeries, and doctors' appointments they have numerous medical expenses to be paid out of their pocket even after what insurance covers.
With Katie's inability to work, they have been stretched over their limits.
As you can imagine, this has been hard emotionally on both Nate and Katie, and the move has only added to their stress.
