Tylor Sterling & Family

Donation protected
On 12/21, my brother Tylor (27) was found dead of an apparent overdose. Paramedics were able to revive him but Drs have given little to no hope of him surviving, saying he is brain dead. However, we've been seeing signs of life such as responding to stimuli and moving his body when we're talking, as well as overbreathing the ventilator. We've been being pressured daily from the very first day he arrived at the hospital to take him off support and donate organs, saying he has no chance, and then going so far as to try to guilt my parents with things such as "it be a shame if his body were to fail and couldn't be used to donate, that would be a second tragedy". We've had a handful of friends share their personal stories as well as been connected with their friends who have shared their stories about being classified as brain dead with no chance of recovery, all 6 defied what the Drs had said, and walked out of those hospitals on their own feet and shared their stories with my parents directly. My brother started using drugs and alcohol as a way to cope with the death of our oldest brother, who had committed suicide. It's been a daily struggle since. Loosing Ty would be the second son, and second brother to be lost in our family. Both my parents are currently out of work. Dad was hurt at work a week before this happened but didn't return to work under restrictions as we were at the hospital, therefore not able to collect on workcomp. Their propane tank that keeps the heat on just went dry today, temp has dropped already to 54 deg inside the house. We put Christmas off due to living at the hospital and not having a chance to get ready for Christmas. Moms been driving back and forth to the hospital now that he's stabilized, over an hour each way. On one of the trips back, their last running vehicle broke down on them, leaving them to have to borrow cars while they try to come up with money for a tranny for one vehicle and parts for another. We've connected with a neurologist who specializes in cases like this, who will be bringing his team from New Jersey to consult on Tylor, and has a different opinion than the current Drs as there are signs that he is coming through and he just needed time for brain swelling to go down. We don't know what possible costs may be involved, we're just trying to cover costs right now and the expenses involved in daily commuting to the hospital, repairing broke vehicles, getting a fuel delivery to get heat back on and keeping electric on, food in the fridge, and a roof over kids heads, some presents for a late Christmas would be nice too. Extra money will be put towards any costs associated with the specialist. Tylor is a big brother to me and my 2 sisters and 1 brother.
