Donate for Debbie!

Debbie D’Alessandro has shared her passion for teaching and love of learning with the Pocahontas family and other Henrico County Public Schools for many years. As a breast cancer survivor, and Pocahontas Hawk, Debbie has been a champion for our American Cancer Society and Relay for Life fundraisers. Recently, Debbie has again been diagnosed with cancer. This time her battle is against stage four lobular breast cancer which has spread to her skin, the deep tissue of her left axilla, and sacrum. She is in the midst of drug therapy and daily radiation treatments.

While her spirit is strong, her battle has led her to take a break from teaching. This financial burden is immediate, large, and will continue to grow in the coming months, as she continues her treatment and moves out of her home without knowing when she might return to work. Your monetary contributions will support Debbie’s medical care and living expenses, as well as provide much needed funds during this time of extreme transition.

Debbie has been well-loved by her friends, extended family, fellow church members, and colleagues with meals, transportation, and household help in the past few weeks. Your donations will have an immediate impact on Debbie’s medical care, quality of life, re-housing and emotional well-being.
