Help Mom and Bruce pay the rent!

As most of you all know, my beautiful and strong mother Neita Ann Wood has been battling cancer now for 4 years. First she had lung cancer and then a year later breast cancer. All was clear for a few years until last March when she learned the breast cancer had spread to her bone, adrenal glands, and other areas. Stage 4 was the diagnosis. Mom began chemo and stopped around May when she decided that was enough and she was tired of feeling so badly from the chemo. Around June all her scans came back clear-Praise God! Early October she started having headaches and feeling dizzy. She finally had a scan and the next day October 24th, she was diagnosed with metastatic brain cancer (breast cancer had spread).  This was of course shocking and disappointing information. The next day was spent  celebrating my brother's 50th where mom helped set up for the party in her typical go getter fashion. That night and the next day she spent sick in bed when we finally decided a trip to the ER was necessary. She has been in the hospital since October 26th. Surgery to remove a small tumor on her cerebellum near the 4th vent rival was performed on October 29th to remove pressure in that area. The picture above was taken the night before surgery. Mom has been up and down with her recovery including a permanent shunt that was placed Monday, November 10th. She was in ICU for about 17 days and is now in a Neuro Progressive Care  room. Unfortunately she has developed pneumonia (most likely due to aspiration during her swallow study). We had a rough day yesterday but this tiny little fighter is having a good day. 

We we have all been asked "How can we help?" and not really had an answer....until now. One of their biggest needs would be help with their rent for the next 2 months so that Bruce (my step dad) can spend more time with her at the hospital and not worry about missing work and loss of income.
