Clemson Confectioneries is a bakery built upon three sweet principles: hard work, dedication, and ambition. As a Clemson student, I am eager to apply the teachings I've learned at Clemson University into opening this business.
The funding I receive will be used to start construction on a retail space in Patrick Square Clemson. Each dollar raised will help to open Clemson’s first Gourmet Bakery.
My Story:
Building a bakery has always been a childhood dream of mine. Much of my adolescent years were spent over a stove, creating pastries, decorating cakes, and organizing multiple bake sales. In 2014, I graduated with a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts from Suffolk Culinary School in New York. Shortly after, I took flight overseas to Italy where I continued studying Pastry Arts in the heart of Florence. The next step in following my dessert centered passion lead me straight to the southland. I quickly enrolled as a full time student at Clemson University. Little did I know, but this great school would forever change my life. I was granted phenomenal opportunities ranging from competing in Cupcake and Cake Wars, to organizing bake sales for Student Government Affairs. However, the most prestigious competition I had the privilege of entering was entitled Pitch Smackdown: a competition for startup companies. I pitched Clemson Confectioneries to Venture Capitalists and Investors; resulting in a first place win. Since winning Pitch Smackdown, business has doubled and my ambition to expand the company has been amplified. Currently, I have been working long hours baking, decorating and selling desserts! Each day, I step one foot closer to the front doors of my childhood dream; and opening Clemson first bakery.
