"Recycling" support for Marco

Marco is our night custodian at Doty Middle School in Downey, CA. You will never meet a more positive and optimistic person! Marco's wife Tonya was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer over a year ago She began agressive chemo treatments, but sadly the cancer has now spread to her bones and she is in tremendous pain. She is still undergoing chemo treatments for the sake of their three children, Leonardo (15), Josef (6) and Fatima (3). Marco shared Tonya's story with me a few weeks ago and it touched my heart. He was not telling me becuase he was hoping for sympathy or support. He shared Tonya's story with me becuase of the love he has for her and their three children. Unfortunately, the family is struggling financially with the numerous medical bills and cost of living concerns. On a daily basis, Marco takes the bottles and cans from the classroom trash containers and recycles them for money to help pay his bills. The staff of DMS have tried to help Marco, by bringing in our recyclables for him and various monetary donations. In my last conversation with Marco, he told me that he feels God is preparing him for his wife's passing. His children are dealing with the upcoming loss of their mom in different ways. His six year old son is in therapy because he has been inconsolable, while his fifteen year old struggles with the question of; "Why?" His three year old daughter, snuggles up with her mommy when she knows she doesn't feel well. I am confident there is more that we can do for this wonderful man and his family during this very difficult time. I would like to encourage you to help Marco by donating to his fund. Any amount dontated will be much appreciated and given to help pay for the numerous bills the family is responsible for. Please keep Marco, Tonya and their children in your prayers!
