Haze's Top Surgery Fund

My name is Haze, I’m 18, I’m a trans boi, and I came out to my parents and community when I was 13. My chest is the one thing that gives me the most dysphoria and I know that getting top surgery will help me feel more whole and fulfilled as a person.  I’m an artist; I enjoy doing photography, many fine art mediums (colored pencils, graphite, acrylic, paper-cutting, murals, etc), making costumes, and playing and writing music and poetry. Putting myself out there has always been hard and when I don't like how I look it’s even harder. This surgery will help with my self confidence and will make it easier to do what I love most.  


I just moved to Idaho and started working to save up for this surgery. I had saved up $1,400 of the $2,000 copay, but then I was taken advantage of by a scam and they took all my money.  Now not only do I have nothing, but now I owe my bank $200 because I overdrafted on a payment. The bank is investigating, but they told me the perpetrators are almost never caught. I feel so embarrassed and angry because I’d saved up all that money and was so proud that I almost had enough to cover the copay… and now it’s all gone. I'm asking for $2,500 to cover the copay, travel costs to and from Seattle, and the Gofundme fees.


Since I’m still covered under my parent’s insurance in Washington State, I just need to figure out how to pay for the costs that they won’t cover. My surgeon is Dr. Jeffrey Kyllo at the Polyclinic in downtown Seattle.  The good news is that the pre authorization has just been approved and Dr. Kyllo is ready to schedule me before the end of the year!
