Hayley's Birthday Fundraiser for Cat Watch Wilts

For my birthday this year I am hoping to raise awareness (and some much needed money) for a fantastic local animal shelter - Cat Watch Wiltshire. (http://catwatchwilts.com/  and https://www.facebook.com/wiltsandhantscats ) These amazing people take in and help lost, injured, sick and abandoned cats across Wiltshire. They ensure all the cats and kittens they rescue receive medical care, give them a safe place to stay and find them new homes, as well as helping to reunite lost pets with their families.

To give just a few examples of their brilliant work, back in the middle of the first lockdown, Cat Watch Wiltshire featured in the Salisbury Journal after rescuing 24 'badly abused and neglected' cats, from a single residence, in one day. (https://www.salisburyjournal.co.uk/news/18462734.cat-watch-wilts-brings-animals-safety-amesbury-shelter/  ) All of these poor cats and kittens needed medical attention.

Cat Watch also helped to reunite a cat with its owner in Salisbury, after he was found by a member of the public over 30 miles away in Trowbridge! (https://www.salisburyjournal.co.uk/news/18569629.missing-moggy-found-60-miles-salisbury/ )

One particular case that kept me glued to my phone awaiting updates was that of a kitten who was seen being hit by a car. The kitten had taken refuge in a hole next to the road - Cat Watch camped out for 3 days and nights trying to coax the kitten out. Thinking the worse, they started to dig to make the hole bigger, believing that the kitten must have passed away, but their patience and perseverance were rewarded when they found the kitten alive and amazingly with no obvious injuries. The kitten, named Fiver, is thriving.52657488_1605734264387801_r.jpeg
The Covid 19 virus has made it very difficult for Cat Watch to continue their usual fundraising efforts, but the number of cats needing help continues to increase. A recent arrival, a tiny black kitten found alone in Tidworth, appears to be blind in both eyes. The vets are hopeful that an operation may restore some, if not all, of little Pickle Rick's eye sight. But this operation, along with all the other trips to the vets that Cat  Watch organise for their rescues, cost money.
Cat Watch are also in the process of building additional shelters to enable them to take in more cats who need their help.

If you can spare anything, no matter how small, it will be so appreciated by this animal shelter (and the cats of course!)
Thank you so much!
Hayley xx
