Hayden Eskew Rescue Fund

Hi! My name is Tanner Eskew. I’m putting together this GoFundMe following the rescue of my brother, Hayden Eskew, after he spent 3 days missing in the mountains of Puerto Rico.

After we graduated high school, we began traveling in search of a place where we could buy land to live a more sustainable life. We both fell in love with the beauty and abundance that Puerto Rico had to offer and in 2017, we bought a farm in Las Marias.

Hayden is a YouTuber and has built a large online community, daily vlogging his life in Puerto Rico and his efforts to make our dreams for the farm a reality. While I had to return to Texas, Hayden has lived on the farm in a tiny house that he built. He has built friendships with many people on the island and has received so much support from his online community.

On February 24th, 2022, Hayden went missing. I spent almost 4 days searching the island and contacting anyone who might’ve seen him. After reaching out to the online community, we received an immense amount of support. Thousands of people were sharing and keeping an eye out for any sign of my brother.

On February 27th, a search party began in the area where we had found Hayden’s car the day previously. Thankfully, within a few hours Hayden was found alive, alongside both his dogs. His rescue took a long 10 hours, in terrible conditions from a location that even helicopters could not reach.

Words can’t express how thankful I am to the responders that rescued my brother. They risked themselves to help my family with no hesitation. To thank them for their courage and bravery and to support them in providing continued recovery services in Puerto Rico, we would like to raise money to buy them new equipment. I spoke with some of the team and they are volunteers, using equipment they had paid for themselves. We want to make sure that they have whatever they need to continue saving lives.

Any donations made will go to assisting in covering any of Hayden and family’s expenses caused by this emergency and to purchasing new equipment for the Search and Rescue team.
