I’m reaching out to ask for your help for my dear friend Hayat and her beloved dog, Mika. On Saturday night, Mika suffered a serious injury and was rushed to the emergency vet. They attempted surgery, but during the procedure, she went into cardiac arrest. Thankfully, they were able to bring her back, but they couldn’t complete the surgery. Instead, they cleaned the wound as best they could and wrapped it up, leaving Hayat with a $3,000 bill.

Now, after consulting another vet, she’s been told that Mika must have surgery to properly close the wound. The cost is still unknown, but after already spending thousands, she’s at a financial standstill.

To make matters even harder, Hayat is going through a difficult divorce, moving out of her home, and currently sleeping on her sister’s couch. Her credit was severely impacted by her previous partner, making her ineligible for lending or care credit options. She is doing everything she can, but she’s out of options—and that’s why I’m asking for help.
