For over 25 years the name of Mike Thrasher has been synonymous with the Pacific Northwest music scene. He took his passion for music to a new level – from booking acts in a local bar to expanding and hosting a variety of acts in numerous locations across Portland, OR. In 2005 Mike began his involvement with The Hawthorne Theatre and the Hawthorne Theatre Lounge, helping to reopen the doors of this historic masonic building, and working tirelessly to ensure that the venue became an integral part of the community.
Of the many notable qualities that the Hawthorne Theatre possesses, one that assuredly stands out is the staff that works there. Whether it be Metal, Hip Hop, Indie Acoustic, or Spoken Word - they have worked to provide a space where you could feel comfortable; more than that, felt at home in. From the door staff and bartenders, to the security team to the production crew running the sound and lights – these individuals, like you, have a deep love of live music and this city.
Like so many in our tight-knit music community, the Hawthorne Theatre was severely impacted by the unprecedented ramifications of COVID-19, and on March 11, 2020 we were forced to shut the doors for the safety of our staff and patrons alike.
Now, in this difficult time, it is with much humility that we are asking for your help, for the staff that has worked hard to keep the Hawthorne’s doors open and marquee bright night after night.
We have a long road ahead of us - but there is a light at the end of this tunnel, and we look forward to being able to open our doors once again to all of our friends in the near future. In the meantime we hope you will help our team with whatever you can.
