Johnny Oliver's Fight

Donation protected
Hello,

My name is Justice Webb and I decided to reach out in order to try and help two very special people in my life. Johnny Oliver or Johnny “Thunder” as many of you may know him, has had a very difficult past two years. During Thanksgiving of 2014 he was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and little did he know this marked the beginning of what seemed like a disaster. Shortly after, he was diagnosed with stage two brain cancer as well as bone cancer. As time passed both the brain cancer as well as the bone cancer quickly progressed to very aggressive stage four cancer. Between Johnny’s amazingly supportive and dedicated girlfriend Miranda Mullen and other family and friends, he has been transported back and forth to Duke University. At Duke, Johnny has taken part in aggressive chemotherapy and radiation treatments every day. Everything seemed to be going smoothly until things took a turn for the worse. In the last two weeks, Johnny has been given the news from Duke University that the cancer has taken over more than 85% of his body. He was also informed that there was nothing else that could be done for him and his time is extremely limited. We are all devastated to say the least. That was until Johnny received a phone call that he was being given the opportunity to go to one of the best cancer institutes in the country, Mt. Sinai Hospital located in Miami, Florida. This has a blessing in many ways. Not only is Johnny battling cancer, he also has an unstable aortic valve, which limits his options for forms of treatment. It just so happens the doctors believe his body could sustain this trial treatment. Which brings me to my goal for creating this page. Johnny has been given an opportunity that many cancer patients pray for but, Miranda and Johnny are financially on their own. His health insurance does not cover trial treatments. The costs calculated within this goal are as follows: money to cover the pills he must take twice a day, the six hour extremely painful treatments he must sit through, the transportation back and forth from the hospital to the hotel, his room and board while he is staying in Miami, and last but not least the money needed to transport Johnny back and forth to Miami. With Miranda working two jobs, attending college full time and Johnny not being able to work they are doing all they possibly can. Please help in any way possible, there is no amount that is too small. And if you are unable to help financially please keep them in your prayers.
