Buy Manchester’s Gay Village a Virtual Drink This October

Thursday marks the start of Go Sober October AKA Stoptober.

We’re fully behind giving your liver a break (if you so choose) but the pandemic continues to hurt the hospitality industry, and we want to help.

Manchester’s iconic Gay Village is a staple of many a good night out on the town. People from all walks of life have flocked to the bars and pubs there for generations, knowing they’ll be welcomed with a cheery smile and a cheeky comment.
And, over the August Bank Holiday weekend, the annual MCR Pride festival fills the city with rainbows, fun, music, and inclusivity.
But that was before.

With Pride 2020 cancelled and bars already having to close their doors at 10pm, we’re in danger of last orders being called on this wonderful place.
The Village is at the heart of the city’s nightlife and the staff who add colour and entertainment to your nights out are struggling to make a living.

They’ve served us for years, we think it’s time we got a round in.
So, this October, we’re asking you to donate the price of a drink to, hopefully, help some of your favourite bars keep going. That way, when this all blows over, we can all have one hell of a party together!
Whatever you can give will be gratefully received.

All proceeds will go directly to Manchester’s Village license Business Association (VLBA) and be distributed among the bars and clubs equally. By checking the gift aid box, you can even include a tip at no extra charge.

To all the Gay Village staff, be they bartenders, bouncers, cleaners, or entertainers, thanks for all the fabulous nights, this one’s on us.
